St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram

St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram is an Austrian liqueur derived from a Jamaican pot-still rum base, made by steeping pimento berries in the rum.  The berry comes from a West Indian tree called Pimenta dioica, a relative of the eucalyptus tree.  This liqueur is a critical element in tropical drinks.

Base:                                     Allspice (“pimento”)

Flavor is most like:       Clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, anise

Sweetness (1 to 5):       2

Description:                    Adds a sweet, spicy note to cocktails, but the spice can be very strong in flavor.  A little certainly goes a long way, and too much will overpower a cocktail.  This liqueur pairs well with grapefruit and pineapple juice, as well as coffee.

ABV:                                    22.5%
