Cynar
Cynar (pronounced “Chee-nar”) is an Italian bittersweet liqueur. Created in 1952 in Venice, Italy, Cynar is an infusion of 13 herbs and plants, most notably the artichoke, which graces the label. (The name “Cynar” is derived from Cynar scolymus, the latin name of the artichoke.) It can be used to add a “pungent” element to cocktails and can be used interchangeably with other amari to provide unique twists on already popular drinks.
