Step back into medieval Italy, where folklore dictated that witches would gather to bless (or curse) the town and passersby.  This cocktail elicits the devilish collaboration of herbs, spices, and spirits to create a mouthwatering libation!

The Wicked Witch

• 1 1/2 oz. Gin or Vodka
• 1 oz. Strega  (Italian for "The Witch") Simple Syrup
• 1/2 oz. Fresh lime juice.
• 1 oz. Club Soda

Mix the gin, simple and lime juice in a shaker, add ice, and shake vigorously.  Pour all ingredients into a rocks glass and top with club soda.  Garnish with a mint leaf.

Note: a non-alcoholic version (aka "The White Witch") may be made using the same ingredients, minus the gin or vodka.
