Let us introduce Javier Talavera, a talented bar hero leading the charge at a speakeasy hidden within a Nepalese restaurant in Arlington, TX.  We took a few moments with Javier to learn a little more about him and his experience as a bar hero.

1. 1. Javier, it's good to see someone with your passion.  How long have you been in bartending?   15 years
   2. What first interested you in the profession?   Hospitality. It's the smile on people's faces.
   3. What do you wish more people understood about the work behind great cocktails?   The time and love it takes to make
   4. What is one drink you love to make, and one that you'd like to retire?    I honestly love to make all drinks., but I'd retire the Long Island Iced Tea.
   5. What is the wildest ingredient you've ever used in a drink--and did it work?    Nothing too wild.  Just egg and salt. It worked all right.
   6. What is the best compliment you've ever received from a guest?    "I'm the best bartender."
   7. If you could give advice to someone wanting to be a bartender, what would you say?    Learn the basics, keep driving forward.
