This recipe is a riff on the Coffee-Pecan Bitters in the Bitters book by Brad Thomas Parsons. While many of the ingredients are the same, this recipe incorporates the New Orleans favorite chicory coffee to add an element of earthiness to this well-rounded concoction.

- 1/2 cup lightly roasted pecans
- 1/2 cup chicory coffee beans
- 1 tsp. cocoa nibs
- 1/4 tsp. minced dried orange peel
- 1/4 tsp. black peppercorns
- 1/2 tsp. cassia chips
- 1/2 tsp. wild cherry bark
- 2 cups high-proof bourbon
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons molasses
