Bar spoons and stirrers may seem to be commonplace, but there is actually science behind their use.  The bar spoon has evolved in recent years to combine form and function to the bar hero.

Bar spoons are relatively cheap in price, ranging from $3-$7 on the market, up to $25-30 for higher quality workmanship.  Considering you generally need only buy one or two, finding a good one is certainly worth the spend.  Bar spoons vary in size, weight, and function/multifunction, and more elaborate ones have surfaced in recent years that can reflect the individuality of the bar and/or bartender.

Stirrers are also commonplace, and although they vary in material, the function is the same–to stir the cocktail on ice to chill it.
